Holy Hell

The B-side of ritual

After several years taking pictures of high society weddings in Lima, Jason Sullivan realized he had amassed a significant archive of unconventional images that could not be delivered to newlyweds but could rather be arranged in a photobook.

These photographs portray the decadence within: cocaine galore, comatose guests, body parts in unexpected situations; straying away from initial etiquette and decorum. The wedding ritual at its most pagan form.

Sullivan has already prepared a book dummy and is planning to publish whenever it proves possible. Also, he’s thinking on his next photo project: weddings throughout Peru, especially in Andean societies.
