Th. Cron

Swiss architect, Peruvian oeuvre

Theodor Cron is one of the most mysterious figures in Peruvian architecture.

The result of a decade-long research project initiated in 2012, this monograph seeks to position Cron within local historiography and in relation to the growth of Lima and the development of a local modernity in the mid-twentieth century.

Historic documentation—photographs, drawings, plans, letters and other materials—is complemented by essays that cover topics ranging from the biographical to the analytical and experiential; the book also contains a catalogue raisonné with previously-unknown work.
